IHMS SOP 001 V2
Standard operating procedure for fecal samples identification HUVH

The IHMS SOP 001 develops an international consensus on the essential human metadata that needs to be coded and linked with the fecal samples. This includes results from food-frequency and food-recall questionnaires, Quality-of-Life questionnaires and further relevant information on life styles that may influence microbial colonization (taking into account the limiting factors like geographical validity), in the conditions from samples handling from patient until to DNA extraction after variable steps of freezing de-freezing and also comparisons between core and borders of fecal samples. This SOP is an international standard description on how to encode the samples, how to identify them with respect to regulatory and ethical constraints and reduced to minimal working sets of Metadata coded.
